Pastor John preaches from Philippians 3:17-21. Living with Faithful Focus Part 1. In our previous study of Philippians 3:12-16 we took a look at what it means to live the Christian life with momentum. But, the problem with momentum alone is that it can power us down the wrong road just as quickly as it can power us down the right road. So to make momentum truly effective it has to be coupled with the right focus. For if you, as a Christ follower, are focused on the right goal with momentum at your back then spiritually you will be exactly where God wants you! What then should our ultimate focus be? What’s the goal? Obviously, the answer is to be like Jesus. And how do we do that? Well, it is in the answering of this question that we want to talk about “focus”. Because here’s the truth: the more we live a spiritually focused life in this sadly unfocused world, the more we will definitely become like and the more we will beautifully reflect the glories of our Lord Jesus Christ. Additionally, when Holy Spirit momentum is combined with the right Biblical focus the blessing for the Christian will be “over the top” joy!
