mega greetings
Dear Family of Faith, Greetings in Jesus’ Name! I hope that your summer is going well and that you are finding time to get outside to enjoy the handiwork of God so evident here in the Northwest.
Thank you for your ongoing financial support of our ministry here at Faith. Your gifts are truly being used to help Faith reach our community and around the world for Christ. I’m glad we have this opportunity to share together in His great plan to bring salvation to people everywhere. Please continue to support the work our Lord is doing. Faith truly wants to spiritually build believers and bring Jesus to those who do not yet know Him.
As you are receiving this letter from me, our church will be engaged in one of our biggest & most effective outreach events of the year. I’m talking about Mega Kidz Camp which runs from July 26 through July 29, from 6:00-9:00pm each evening. We have a huge volunteer staff in place and (as I write) we already have a great number of children preregistered to attend. Please pray that our Christian kids will invite their friends and that those friends will give their lives to Jesus. Also, pray that the gospel will be carried by the kids back to their homes and that siblings & parents will discover Jesus!
Now here’s an important reminder. Mega Kidz Camp will culminate on Sunday, August 1st, with a very special day for our church, our children & our community. We are calling this day, Celebration On The Green. We will have one service that Sunday which will start at 10:00am. Many parents of the children who have been at our camp all week will be in attendance. This will be our opportunity to show them the incredible love of Jesus … share with them the story of Jesus … and give them the invitation to follow Jesus. Following the service we have a barbeque planned with lots of games, “bouncy toys,” and opportunities for community families to learn about faith at Faith. On this day, it is so important for all of us who call Faith our “church home” to be in the hospitality mindset to reach out and help all of these visitors feel extremely comfortable & welcomed here. Additionally, please do all you can to get the children that you know to come to Mega Kidz Camp and for their parents to come with them on Sunday to Celebration on the Green. Flyers are available to you at the church office to invite your neighbors. Again, please pray that the Holy Spirit will use this outreach ministry to bring many new folks through our doors and that our attempts to share Christ will encounter lots of receptive hearts.
There is one other thing I want to share with you and ask you to pray over for Faith. A few Sundays ago, I brought a message to you that the Lord put on my heart for Faith about our direction as a church for the future. I sensed that the Lord was leading me to call all of us at Faith to intentionally choose to position ourselves, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, onto the same page, going in the same direction, moving toward spiritual health. Your leadership team (deacons & pastoral staff) has taken this challenge to heart and has been seeking God’s direction for the best ways to move forward in this manner. We have some ideas for our Sunday adult ministry that we believe the Lord has given us and which we will be rolling out in the Fall semester. I will tell you more about these ideas in August once we have been able to do a little more preparation work. But for now, I just wanted to ask you to pray diligently for God to guide the leadership as we seek both His plans for Faith and His process for best bringing those plans to fruition in accordance with His will.
